Professional RCD Safety Switches Adelaide, SA
The aim of our RCD safety switches is to save lives. RCDs ensure that during any current leakage or imbalance, the current is switched off. This means that if you have accidentally exposed yourself to a certain electrical current, you won’t get an electric shock. By Australian law, you must have an RCD and a circuit breaker installed in your home to ensure that you and your family are protected from electric shocks or electrical fires.
If your RCD safety switch is more than 10 years old, it should be replaced. As the device ages, its effectiveness and functionality degrade and could be the difference between getting a life-threatening electric shock or not. EJM Electrical are happy to provide installation, supply, maintenance and repair services for RCDs. We have built a solid reputation based on high-quality workmanship, safety and a friendly demeanour.

Residual Current Devices or RCDs monitor the electricity that flows through a circuit to check for imbalances through neutral and live wires. These dangerous imbalances can occur when the current travels through a person or a foreign object. When this happens, RCD is capable of detecting and stopping the current in a millisecond.
RCDs are vital as if you were to put yourself in a situation in which an imbalance occurred, your RCD would shut off the current and potentially save your life. The device switches off the current so quickly that it significantly reduces your chance of experiencing a life-threatening shock.
It is important to test your RCD to ensure that it works properly. You may do this by pressing the button marked “T” for test. This test button interrupts the current as if an imbalance has occurred. If your test button does not result in a power shut down, please contact an electrician immediately as your RCD may not be working correctly and can be very dangerous.
